AFC system is to automatize the vending, counting, and collecting of tickets attached with a magnetic band.Or, when passengers use a traffic card - noncontact SMART CARD, AFC system automatically manages various kinds of statistics and accounting data.

MFC (Main Frame Computer)
MFC is to control all the machines in each station, transmit operation data to stations, compute accounting and statistical data and print out the report of all data.
FSP (Front System Processor)
It is to transmit fundamental information (time, section schedule, fare table etc) to station computer, and to send out accounting or statistical data received from DGM to Main Frame Computer and print out the report of all data.
OWS (Operators Workstation)
OWS prints out all the accounting or statistical data received from MFC and receives all material input manually in each station to print out reports relevant to revenue audit and overall administration.
MWS(Maintenance Workstation)
It receives all the alarms of machines in stations from Front System Processor(FSP), and performs a storing, referencing, printing of data necessary for the maintenance and repair work.
MSC (Management Station Computer)
MFC sends out accounting or statistical data to MWS, which prints out reports relevant to revenue audit in each station.

DGM (Data Gathering Machine)
DGM is to transmit all the accounting, statistical data received from terminal in station office to MFC, and to send out any information necessary for mechanic operation to terminal in station office.
AVM (Automatic Vending Machine)
It is a ticket vending machine that passengers can operate in person.
[Operation Method]
- 1) Check a section of your destination and press a button to select the kind of tickets
- 1 section: One-way ticket, Round-trip ticket, Discount ticket for students
- 2 section: One-way ticket, Round-trip ticket, Discount ticket for students
- 2) Fare is shown, and put coin or bill (1,000won unit) in the slot.
- 3) Ticket (if any, change) comes out
AFAM (Automatic Fare Adjustment Machine)
It is to re-calculate your fare if exceeding time or distance of section.
[Operation Method]
- 1) Put your ticket in slot in case of exceeding time or distance of section
- 2) Re-calculated fare is shown, and insert coin.
- 3) Re-calculated ticket comes out

AGM is a ticket gate to check your fare.There are combination machine for ticket/a traffic card and dedicated machine for Hanaro card

Station crew operates BOM to issue ticket, or re-calculate fare in case of exceeding time and distance of section.
Recharger
It puts a new supply of amount into a traffic card,and shows information stored in card such as ride number, ride time, remaining amount etc.
