Signal equipment is to control an operative path, speed, stop at a fixed position, stopping time, operative distance among trains and so on.
As it is considerably important equipment for the safe operation of a train, it has a dual installation to minimize a possible failure.
In the case of a break down, it operates in a fail-safe side. When a train used to run at a low speed and its service frequency was light in early days, the initial signal device was just for a safe operation, but as an electric and electronic technologies are introduced into the signal equipment, it not only functions as a safe operation, but also contributes to the increase of effective operation such as a high-speed, high-density and automatic running.

Total Traffic Control (TTC)
Total Traffic Control For Operation
Total Traffic Control For Operation With an indicator panel showing a present operation status of the trains in all sections and direct-controlling unit for an operator to work in an operation state, it executes an intensive monitor and a running control for safe operation.

Signal Control Equipment
Signal Control Equipment As a total system to control the operation state of a train, it is composed of main computer and information-transmitting unit. The main computer analyzes an automatic course, returning, stopping time to have control of a field equipment necessary for an automatic operation.
And the information-transmitting unit transmits data between total traffic control and field facility.

Interlocking equipment

Interlocking equipment is to have an automatic control of signal systems(track circuit, electric switch, signalling equipment etc), recognizing a command of control facility, demand of an operator, and motion of a train
Track circuit
Track circuit Track circuit is to sense a present position of a train, which configures an electric circuit on track and sends out operative information to a train with the use of this electric circuit.

Automatic operation sub-system
Automatic operation sub-system It is to control a stopping fixed-position
and stopping time signal of a train
through a mutual communication
between a conductor and TTC unit.

Operator's cab
Operator`s cab As an equipment to control a train in partial section of working sections, it performs the same function as Total Traffic Control. In the case that TTC has a failure or if necessary, an operator can monitor an operative state of a train and control it.

Electric switch

Electric switch

It is to swich a direction of lines in case of having to change an operative direction of a train. It contains a safe device to prevent from movement until a train passes after the switch.

TWC is to control an automatic course and stopping time,
transmitting information of a starting train (train number, destination)
to a ground facility such as TTC and interlocking equipment

System supervision console
System supervision console SSC indicates an operation state of each equipment
such as the specification of unit failure and alarm signal,
and a running state of trains.
